About
Our course format
Upon registration, students receive a course plan with access to timelines, textbooks and selected readings, assignments, handouts, slide decks and links to various resources that support each lesson module.
A real human instructor meets with learners once a week to discuss key content for that week as shown on the course calendar.
Video clips are provided to introduce, remind and guide learners through these meetings, along with details on their studies and assignments. This information is also provided in writing and shared on your course module.
Assignments, quizzes and a final exam are included with each course. These are evaluation tools that indicate your level of understanding and growth toward the end of the course.
Learning materials
Our courses are revised undergraduate programs I have taught online and on campus with hundreds of students. My work and learning experience as a professional writer and communicator has also been woven into the instructional design.
As an advocate of Open Learning, I used pressbooks and other open learning resources in each course -- all free for learners to access and keep. I then curated content from various sources to add relevance, depth, and interest to serve as real life examples from my varied workplaces. This mix offers academic rigor, authenticity and a dash of the unexpected.
